Nextrend Launches Online Direct-access Brokerage, Releases Software Update

NexTrend
Technologies has launched its online broker-dealer, NexTrend Securities,
the company announced. Accounts are offered to active traders, hedge fund
managers, and institutions. Commissions for active traders start at $0.012/share
or $1.20/100 shares for the first 500 shares and $0.006/share or $0.60/100
shares for trades over 500 shares.
In other news, NexTrend said it had released analytical software NexTrend
Analysis 5.0, which offers more than 100 feature enhancements. These include
split codes, quote board sorting, news display indicators, advanced formulas,
customizable quotes, and more. NexTrend Technologies product features include
Level II, charts, tickers, quote boards, alarms, formulas, news and scanning.
It also offers electronic direct access trading with point and click, hot
keys, time and sales, real-time risk management, and compliance.

Traders' Events Scheduled For Latin America in 2004

Two
traders' events, International Traders Congress and the Expo
Trader Brazil, are scheduled to take place in Latin America on May
26-27, 2004. They will take place in the Gran Melia WTC São Paulo.
Projected attendance is 3,000-5,000 people from all over Latin America,
as well as from the US and Europe. The objectives of the congress will
be: focus in real practice of the operations, diffusion of new techniques
and technologies, and promote practical experience and knowledge. Confirmed
speakers are Jack Schwager, Steve Nison, Price Headley, Jerome Bressert,
and Jose Branco, among others. S2LM Financial Consulting will be promoting
these events.

Global Forex Trading Announces Contest

Forex Trading is giving potential foreign exchange traders a chance
to test their skills and win cash. GFT Forex Challenge participants may
set up demo accounts. The top three contestants will be paid the dollar

Trading Technologies to connect to major derivatives exchanges

Trading
Technologies (TT) said that it plans to offer Financial Information
eXchange (FIX) Protocol connectivity to provide access to the world's
major derivatives exchanges. TT will release a series of high-performance
Fix connectivity products beginning with a Fix adapter, which will provide
Fix connectivity via TT's high-speed gateways to the major electronic
derivatives markets including the Chicago Board of Trade, Chicago Mercantile
Exchange, Eurex, and LIFFE. The Fix adapter will receive orders from a
customer's existing order entry system, convert them to TT, and
quickly route them to the exchange via TT's gateway.

MarketGauge Launches New Product Features

a major upgrade to its MarketGauge HotScans intraday scanning tool, the
Opening Range and Gaps Strategy. The product provides traders with the
ability to define the opening range time period and scan for price and
volume patterns such as opening range breakouts. HotScans is a web-based
tool that allows the user to scan the market throughout the day in real
time to find strong stocks, weak stocks, and heavily traded stocks. The
Opening Range setup can be exploited by different trading styles including
scalping, swing trading, and position daytrading.

is offering managed accounts through its TraderAssist program. The firm,
which has offices in the US and Australia, has provided proprietary S&P
daytrading systems since 1989. The system's plug-in software is
also available for TradeStation platforms.
