TAX PLANNING FOR MUTUAL FUNDS
The No-Load Fund Shareholders Association (NFSA) has released TaxTracker ($48) mutual fund portfolio management software for consumers. The Windows-based program helps individual investors to monitor important aspects of their mutual fund portfolios, such as tax liabilities, historical return and ongoing asset allocation. TaxTracker helps investors monitor their mutual funds to maximize after-tax returns.
TaxTracker can print sell orders that identify the most advantageous group of shares to sell when shares have been purchased at different times. CANADIAN VERSION OF INVESTMENT TRAINING SOFTWARE RELEASED
Competence Software, a provider of interactive, multimedia and computer-based training products, has modified and released its Investment Basics and Financial Competence training software for the Canadian market. The software for the PC teaches the user how to read, set up and understand a company's financial statements. It also teaches the basics of investing and financial planning. The products use sound, graphics, animation and drilling practice for instruction. A Macintosh version is in development.

CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION ON FUTURES
The Chicago Board of Trade's August course will be on the basics of agriculturals. The three-day minicourse will introduce the structure and principles of futures and options on the international cash grain markets. It will also cover applying futures and options tools to risk management in the cash grain markets.
The class will be held August 7-9 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and costs $550 per person.

NEW FUTURES CHART SERVICE
Knight-Ridder Financial has released a new weekly chart book, called CRB Futures Perspective. The new publication will replace the two chart services that Knight-Ridder currently publishes, KR-CRB Futures Chart Service and Commodity Perspective. Each issue of the CRB Futures Perspective will include more than 100 pages of material covering 87 domestic and international markets.
The new publication will continue to offer the features that were popular in the previous publications, including CRB Electronic Futures Trend Analyzer, the CFTC Commitments of Traders Report, the Stock Market Momentum Indicator, as well as cash charts and market analysis.
Agricultural and financial editions will be available separately or together as a complete edition.

DATA AND SHAREWARE ON CD
