PowerShares, DeutscheBank Launch Exchange Traded Notes

  Deutschebank and Invesco PowerShares Capital Management announced they would launch eight exchange traded notes (ETNs) linked to the performance of industrial metals and crude oil. The ETNs will be traded on the NYSA Arca. Each of the eight ETNs are senior unsecured obligations of Deutschebank.

ADM Investor Services Acquires Iowa Grain

  Adm Investor Services (ADMIS) and Iowa Grain (IGC) have reached an agreement in which ADMIS acquired the customer business and technologies of IGC on July 1, 2008. This merging will produce a futures commission merchant with services and access to trading platforms and electronic trading facilities.

Amex Launches New Exchange Traded Securities

  The American Stock Exchange has launched trading in two new exchange traded securities from Macro Markets, MacroShares $100 Oil Up Shares (UOY) and MacroShares $100 Oil Down Shares (DOY). Uoy is designed to track the settlement price of the NYMEX division light sweet crude oil futures contract of the designated maturity, and DOY is designed to track the inverse of the settlement price of the NYMEX division light sweet crude oil futures contract of the designated maturity.

FXCM Adds Currency Pairs To Platform

  FXCM has added three new currency pairs with high interest rates and high rollover to the FX Trading Station. The new pairs are euro/Turkish lira, US dollar/Turkish lira, and the US dollar/South African rand. Liquidity in emerging-market currencies is significantly less than G8 currency pairs, often causing large price swings with spreads that can widen to several hundred pips.
