Prudential Kills Technical Analysis Group

Prudential Securities, which was recently purchased by Wachovia Securities, laid off its entire technical analysis group in October following a similar layoff by Citibank back in February. The equity group shuttered its technical research group, including Wall Street veteran Ralph Acampora, who has been with the firm for 15 years. The layoff comes roughly seven months after Citigroup's Smith Barney unit fired its US technical analysis team.
