Advanced systems & indicators package released

UPDATE -- Dennis Meyers, Ph.D., former floor trader and current member of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, offers his latest package of systems and indicators for TradeStation and SuperCharts users. The package contains advanced mathematical techniques and filters based on the algorithms currently used in today's space-age missile and satellite applications.

Each system is walk-forward tested on 10 years of daily data on a continuous futures contract. All the system and indicator codes on disk are directly importable into SuperCharts and TradeStation and are fully disclosed. There are no locks on the source code. The input parameters to the various systems and indicators are changeable and optimizable so that the user can experiment with his or her own parameter set. Although the system results will give parameters for the daily futures the system was tested on, the user can easily use these systems on any tradable or on any time frame.

The first advanced systems & indicators category is the fixed memory polynomial, which was illustrated in Meyers's November 1998 S&C article, "The British Pound Cubed." Fast, efficient algorithms compute the polynomial filter coefficients at each new price bar. The second, advanced category is the recursive or fading memory polynomial filters, which was described in Meyers's December 1998 S&C article, "The Yen, Recursed." The third advanced category is the Kalman filters. These advanced mathematical filters are used by the aerospace industry to filter out noise from radar signals that track missiles, satellites and military targets.
